Hamilton County Whitetail

After several long hot October weeks we finally saw a shooter buck. We actually had a little cold front blow in that day and I was able to hunt my north wind stand. We got there early and thought we would see deer moving early, however, the first deer we saw showed up about 30 minutes before dark. It end up being two 8 point bucks moving our way. The first buck was a little young, but had a nice rack. The second buck was bigger bodied and an older deer. It took me about .003 seconds to decide "HE WAS A SHOOTER'.

When he came in he was facing me and would not give me a good shot. Finally I though he was going to turn so a pulled back my Mathews (www.mathewsinc.com) bow and ended up holding my bow back for 2 full minutes. Finally the buck turned broadside and I watched the tracer nock (www.tracerarrow.com) disappear right behind the shoulder. I was pumped!!! We backed out and went to call Darrell. Of course I had to try to play a little trick on Darrell, but you will have to watch the show to find out what that was. It was a good feeling to have the first whitetail down for the 2006 season. He ended up being a 15" wide typical 8 with a sticker off of his main beam.
