BACK WITH HUNT NEBRASKA INC., TURKEY HUNTING

We went on our first turkey adventure for the year, and it was quite an adventure. We hunted 3 days, of the Nebraska Archery Turkey season with Nate and Hunt Nebraska (www.huntnebraskainc.com). We had 2 1/2 days of 30 mph winds, below 40 degrees, and off and on rain. Perfect spring turkey hunting weather (ha ha).

Finally, the last morning the wind had quit blowing, the sun was shining, and we knew exactly where the turkey were roosting. We got set up and there were birds everywhere. We had front row seats to the "turkey jitterbug". However, all the Toms were henned up and we had to be patient. About an hour before we had to pack up, we had 2 jakes come by at about 30 yards.

Darrell was shooting, and he has never taken a turkey with a bow, so the Jakes were open game. The results can be summed up by saying , I do not have to call Darrell "Dead Eye Darrell" anymore. Thanks Nate, John, Mary Ann for another great adventure. I look forward to coming back in May with my shotgun.
